Inspiration Contest Winner

Ok, no winner yet :( don't think I gave everyone enough time for this contest, so I'm giving everyone 1 more week..due Friday September 3rd. I look forward to seeing what you create. See post on 8/20 for contest details.

Inspiration Art:

Here's what I came up with for this contest. I loved the way the Inspiration art reflects BIG words and a vintage look. So, I stamped the word "Child" over the photo (leaving the "C" off the page a little). I then created room for journaling by drawing lines with a ruler and .03 brown pen. I cut out the large and small circles from the pattern paper and added a staple in the center. The circles create a FUN feel to the page which go along with the photo and title.

Quote

This is a world of action, and not for moping and droning in.
by Charles Dickens

After being locked out the house for an hour and 1/2 with a 1 1/2 year old and 3 1/2 year old I could have easily gone crazy and given up for the day! Fortunately I had a pile full of mail to look at so I gave my 3 1/2 year old a magazine to look through. That kept him busy until Dad got home. Let's take action of our lives and not drone in it!

Quote

I took my son school/church shopping today. When we got home he wanted to try on all of his clothes. He took the shopping bag in the from the car and straight to his room. He opened up the bag and took out his church clothes (dockers, white shirt, dress socks and tie). I helped him put on everything and then he said, "Mom let's pick out a dress for you now." So, he went to my closet and picked out a dress. He then gave it to me along with shoes. He then did my makeup (with lipstick only on half my lips) and eyeshadow all over my cheeks and eyes. It was a BLAST! This quote really helps me to remember that it's the little things we do each day that make all the difference! Let's not forget to make our days special! PS and don't forget to take the photos for the memories!

Tip Tuesday

Have you used our AMAzing Build a Rubons yet? Well, if not you're missing out! When I taught at CKU I instructed the students on the steps to using our Build a Rubons. They loved how our rub-ons applied so easily to their books and stayed true to their color.

Build a Rubon Steps:
1. Using Scissors cut out the border of your choice.
2. Apply border to paper with light pressure using popsicle stick (provided in packaging) or rub-on tool.
3. Using scissors cut out phrase.
4. Apply border to inside of border rub-on.
5. Using scissors cut out additional shapes (flowers, etc. and adhere overlap onto the border of the phrase.
6. When finished staple the rub-on sheet to the backing and insert back into packaging.
7. Organize by theme, alphabetically by company name, etc.

CKU Provo FREE Class!!

Hi everyone! Welcome to my BLOG! This is my first post and I'm so excited for you to join ME! I've got a lot of things planned so I hope you'll visit me often for inspiration, FUN and contests galore!
I had such a wonderful time in Provo this past weekend! Thanks to my students and the CKU staff for the FUN! I can't believe it's over! Debbie and my cousins Jen and Val came along as students! They had sooo much FUN! We went to some amazing restaurants in Provo and Orem, did a little shopping at Archivers and stayed up WAY too late just catchin up on old times!
A little History: After my mom divorced when Debbie and I were young we moved next door to Jen and Val, so we grew up together until we moved in our teenage years to Texas. It had been a while since we were together (just the girls) no kids! Can you believe none of us brought a camera! What a shame! I took a few shots on my iphone but they weren't very good! You can view them on my facebook page if you'd like.
I also went out to Los Hermanos (a popular Mexican joint) with Teresa Collins and Jamie Harper! We talked for a few hours about our lives in a nutshell. It was great getting to know them both. They are such amazing women! Ican't wait to see them again for Teresa's private event in Henderson in September! (Actually Jamie are you going?)
At CKU my students created a special Slide Book titled "My Love Bugs". The inspiration was taken from my 3 year old boy whom we called "buggy boos" when he was younger. The first page begins with memories of his birth. Then through out the rest of the book I've recorded memories I have of him during tub time, getting dirty, and climbing trees! Isaac loves to look through this book because the slides move back and forth creating an interactive book that keeps him busy for a little while (at the doc's office, at church or as a bedtime story). He loves just looking at photos of himself too! Don't all children! Hope you enjoy!

So, if you didn't make it to CKU, I've posted the class for you for FREE! It doesn't have the photos, so it makes it easier for you to see where you need to add your photos. ENJOY!
